Den of thieves 2: pantera (2024)
The highly anticipated sequel to the Gerard Butler-led action heist movie, Den of Thieves, will release at the tail end of 2024,
Butler and Jackson Jr. return to the high-stakes world of Den of Thieves as Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien and unassuming criminal mastermind Donnie Wilson respectively, with filmmaker Christian Gudegast revealing that Den of Thieves 2: Pantera “will take audiences on a breakneck, intense ride through the streets of Europe.”
Released in 2018, the first Den of Thieves follows Butler’s Nick O’Brien, the hard-drinking, hard-fighting leader of the Regulators, an elite unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Pablo Schreiber as Ray Merrimen, the recently paroled leader of the Outlaws, a gang of ex-military men who use their expertise and tactical skills to evade the law. O’Brien, Merrimen, and their crews soon find themselves on a direct collision course as the criminals hatch an elaborate plan for a seemingly impossible heist involving the city’s Federal Reserve Bank.
While met with a mixed response from critics, Den of Thieves was a big hit with audiences, earning a worldwide total of $80.5 million against a production budget of $30 million. Featuring a gloriously gruff turn from Butler, no doubt audiences cannot wait to see the return of “Big Nick” and his hunt for O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s master thief.
